In this paper
we summarize the researches of liquid crystal (LC) adaptive optics(AO) in astronomical applications. Dual frequency and nematic LC materials were reported to be used in astronomical observations. However
nematic LC with its simple producing and driving method and multi-gray-level is promising in the application. We have investigated the nematic LC AO system and promoted its application for nearly ten years. Here
we reported our newest nematic LC AO system with bandwidth result of 3dB is 54.4 Hz
0dB bandwidth is 79.1Hz. 2012 IEEE.

Vision-based human action recognition provides an advanced interface
and research in this field of human action recognition has been actively carried out. This paper describes a scheme for recognizing human actions from a video sequences. The proposed method is an extension of the Motion History Image(MHI) method based on the ordinal measure of accumulated motion
which is robust to variations of appearances. We define the accumulated motion image(AMI) using image differences firstly. Then the AMI of the video sequencesis resized to a MN regulation following the standard of training phases. Finally
we employ Support Vector Machine(SVM) as a classifier to distinguish the current activity in target video sequences. In a word
our proposed algorithm not only outperforms the state of art on public available KTH data set and Weizmann data set
but also proves practical to some real world applications
in addition
this method is computationally simple and able to achieve a satisfactory accuracy.

Crowd panic behavior detection is an important task in video analysis and event recognition
whose purpose is to detect when the panic behavior happened and alarming the abnormal event timely. In this paper
the crowd is regard as a fluid
and the crowd motion is described by four fluid kinematic features (divergence
vorticity
gradient tensor invariant and rotation tensor invariant). To discriminate the panic event from normal crowd behavior
an information entropy is calculated as a high level feature based on the fluid kinematic features. Experimental results show that the entropy raised dramatically once a panic event happened.

In order to eliminate the influence of aircraft attitude angle to the image quality of space camera
and assure that the drift angle of space camera could be accurately adjusted at the orbit
a novel closed-loop test method is provided for real-time drift angle adjustment of space camera on the Earth. A long focal length dynamic aim generator is applied to simulate the image motion and the variety drift angle
and to detect the precision of the image motion compensation machinery and the capability of the drift angle control system. The computer system is used to control the dynamic aim generator
accomplish the data processing
transmit and receive the data information. The seamless connection and the data transmission between the aim generator and the aircraft simulation devices are constituted. The command
parameter and drift angle data transmitted by the simulation devices are received by the space camera at the real time
then the photos are taken and the draft angle is adjusted simultaneously. It is shown that the drift angle can be accurately tracked by the space camera at the real time

Fabrication and photoluminescence of ZnS: Mn2+ nanowires/ZnO quantum dots/SiO2 heterostructure (EI CONFERENCE)

In this paper
we demonstrated the encapsulation of ZnS: Mn2+ nanowires (NWs) and ZnO quantum dots (QDs) with a layer of mesoporous SiO 2 shell for the purpose of integrating dual emission property into one common nanostructure. The average diameter of ZnS: Mn2+ NWs
ZnO QDs
and ZnS: Mn2+ / ZnO@SiO2 heterostructure was about 10 nm
6 nm
and 22 nm
respectively. Within ZnS: Mn2+ / ZnO@SiO 2 nanocomposites
the intensity of the yellow-orange emission contributed by ZnS: Mn2+ NWs and the UV emission contributed by ZnO QDs was three and ten times higher than their individual components
respectively. The fluorescence intensity ratio of the dual emission can be tuned by adjusting the hydrolysis time of tetraethyl orthosilicate. The peak energy of the yellow-orange and UV emission showed blueshift and redshift as increasing the temperature
respectively. The anomalous enhancement of the integrated intensity for the UV emission with the temperature indicated that the high surface state density existing in ZnO QDs can overrun the influence of temperature quenching and even alter the photoluminescent properties. 2010 American Institute of Physics.
