英文摘要 | Dual-arc pulsed MIG welding is a novel low-energy input method. The heat input acting on basemetal and the arc force which is required by droplet transfer can be adjusted separately by the matching and controlling of pulse current waveforms of the main and bypass. The process of dual-arc pulsed MIG welding is unstable due to the poor self-adjusting ability of coupling arc. Aimed at this problem, a control scheme was proposed to stabilize the coupling arc by adjusting the main arc length obtained by vision sensing. Based on this, a real-time control system based on xPC for dual-arc pulsed MIG welding was established and an image processing method to obtain the main arc length was designed. Then, control experiments for coupling arc length stability were conducted based on visual feedback. The results show that the control scheme can meet the control requirements of dual-arc pulsed MIG welding, improve the stability of welding process, and achieve fine welding quality. © 2016, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press.
