英文摘要	In our present work, polymeric membrane ion-selective electrodes for determination of carbonate are described. The electrodes are prepared by using poly(3-octylthiophene) as the intermediate layer deposited by solvent casting on glassy carbon electrodes as a solid inner contact. Under the optimized conditions, the proposed membrane electrode exhibits Nernstian response to carbonate ion over the concentration range of 1.0 10~(-5) to 1.0 10~(-3) mol/L with a slope of -29.6 mV/dec., and the detection limit is 7.0 mumol/L. The sensor also shows excellent selectivity and rapid response time. The potentiometric sensor has been successfully applied to determination of carbonate in real seawater samples.
