英文摘要	PURPOSE:To maintain a constant bonding accuracy with optical fibers and facilitate the junction and manufacture of light emitting devices by providing an optical fiber fixing groove which the tip of the optical fiber faces so that it may be positioned on the injection side of a light emitting device chip on the same optical axis of the light emitting chip. CONSTITUTION:A fixing groove 9, which the tip of optical fiber F faces, is formed in one piece with the injection side 4a of mold resin 4 so that it may be positioned on the same optical axis L of a diode chip 3. The tip of the optical fiber F is inserted into this fixing groove 9 so that it may be fixedly bonded. It extends to the bottom of the fixing groove 9 and near the front edge of a sphere lens 8. The tip of the optical fiber F is arranged to approach the sphere lens as much as possible so that the light passing through the sphere lens 8 may be taken into optical fiber F without any waste. Therefore, coupled with the optical convergence induced by the sphere lens 8, the bonding efficiency between the light emitting diode 1 and the optical fiber 1 is enhanced. An insertion opening section 9a of the fixing groove 9 is expanded and formed into rod-shape, which makes it possible to insert the optical fiber smoothly and easily.
