英文摘要	An analytic function of the probabilities of perception is given first time in this paper. Based on this function it is more convenient for calculation and analysis than using listed data. It is easy to see that in any case in the distribution of visual observed number of meteors, the integrate number in subsection of Deltam greater than or equal to Deltam(peak) is much more great than that in subsection of Deltam < &UDelta;m(peak). In virtue of the advantage of this function, several methods of estimating and calculating the popular index r have been put forward. The methods of peak-magnitude-difference and Full Width at Half Maximum are easy and convenient to use, could quickly estimate a rather good value of r. For observations with enough meteors and enough magnitude subsections, the Least Square Fitting is often used to give a good result of r. The iterative method, which is suggested first time in this paper, can also give a similar precision of r. In addition, it can be used in only two magnitude subsections. Therefore, it may be suitable for analyzing variation of r along magnitude classes. However, the best method might be the mean-magnitude-difference. Of cause, crossing use of several methods may eliminate the effect of the random error in observations largely.
