Analysis on changes in non-point pollution load in Songyuan City

英文摘要Total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) flowing into water were calculated with the method of pollution discharge coefficient to determine non-point source (NPS) pollution of Songyuan City in the year of 2000, 2005 and 2008. The pollute sources included five categories: chemical fertilizer, livestock waste, household pollution, soil and water loss, and farmland waste. Results showed that: The equivalent pollution load of NPS following into water bodies in 2000, 2005 and 2008 in Songyuan City were 40907.61 m3/a, 42112.51 m3/a and 42682.25 m3/a, respectively. Chemical fertilizer, livestock waste and household pollution were the primary pollute sources and they accounted for more than 95% of the NPS pollution. In terms of the total amount of NPS pollution, it was gradually intensifying.
