英文摘要The formative processes of debirs flow imply the course during which double-phase material of both solid (earth and stones) and liqiud (water) on mountain slopes or in gullies interact on each other and form debris flows. According to formative modes and mechanical properties, these formative procces of debris flows can be sorted into two types: soil-mechanical and hydraulic; each has its types, hence the soil-mechanical debris flow and the hydraulic debris flow. The soil-mechanical debris flow, whose mechanical properties is near soil mechanics, is formed by the liqufation of soil on slopes. It has skeleton structure. The hydraulic debris flow is generated by water flow eroding the soil in gullies. Without skeleton structure, its mechanical properties resemble hydraulics. The conversion of one into another is conditioned by different supply rates of solid and liquid materials. The understanding of the formative processes of debris flow mentioned above will help to clarify the basic properties and laws of debris flow so as to take corresponding measures to control it.
