Influence of Cu addition on the glass transition behavior of LaCe-based metallic glasses

英文摘要The effect of Cu content on glass transition behavior of (La0.5Ce0.5)(65)Al10Co25-xCux (x = 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25) metallic glasses was measured by high-rate and high-precision differential scanning calorimetry. It is observed that the glass transition temperature (T-g) decreases with the increase of the Cu content. The fragility (m) increases first and then decreases with the increasing of Cu content, with a maximum m = 63.6 for x = 10. A correlation is confirmed between the enthalpy of mixing fragility. These results suggest that metallic glasses with desirable supercooled liquids characters can be designed by alloying elements with suitable mixing enthalpy.
