英文摘要The effect of exposure to emotional stress on humoral immunie functiion after injection with a novel antigen, ovalbumin (OVA), was studied in rats.Emotional stress was induced by randomly giving empty water bottles to rats trained to drink water at set times. Results showed that emtional stress decreased the spleen index and the level of specific anti-OVA lgG antibody and increased the levels of epinephrine, norepinephrine and corticosterone. A negative correlation between the antibody level and the level of norepinephrine was also found, suggesting that the sympathetic nervous system may be involved in humoral immune modulation induced by emotional stress
