Application of Response Surface Methodology for Optimization of Resveratrol Liquid Crystalline Nanoparticles

英文摘要The objective of this study was to prepare and characterize resveratrol liquid crystalline nanoparticles (RES-LCNPs). Response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize the composition of RES-LCNPs. The optimized RES-LCNPs composition with the ratio of GMO (glyceryl monoolein) to RES concentration of 21.7:1, RES concentration of 0.4 g/L and PVA (polivinil alcohol) concentration of 0.91 g/L provided the desired characteristics. The RES-LCNPs presented nearly sphere structure under transmission electron microscopy (TEM), with an average diameter of 50.77 +/- 5.14 nm and zeta potential of -22.6 +/- 1.9 mV. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analyses revealed that RES was present in the LCNPs. The in vitro release profile of the optimized RES-LCNPs exhibited a biphasic pattern with burst release initially and sustained release afterwards. The results indicated that the optimized LCNPs had the potential to be exploited as RES delivery system for achieving sustained release.
