英文摘要	于新娟，上海外国语大学社会科学部校聘教授，历史学博士。; 【中文摘要】20世纪初以来日本棉制品输华贸易活跃，给本土手工棉纺织业带来严峻挑战的同时也提供了新技术的示范和刺激作用。手工棉纺织业遭遇到巨大困境，也因此获得了前所未有的发展机遇。在困境和机遇的双重变奏中传统产业转型发展，其发展演变的原动力是国际市场的竞争压力与传统产业自身所具有的逻辑性合力作用。 【Abstract】The vitality of the import of Japanese cotton products in the early 20th century provides not only severe challenges to domestic manual cotton textile industry，but also opportunities of demonstration and stimulation of new techniques. The manual cotton textile industry is thus encountered with big problems and unprecedented developing opportunities as well.
