英文摘要	An experiment was conducted to demonstrate that the photonic crystals (PCs) of graphene modified with polymers can stably be dispersed in aqueous solution. A solution graphene-based PC (SGPC) was prepared by in situ-free radical polymerization of styrene, acryl amide (AM), and acrylic acid (AA) on the surface of graphene to display a structurally blue color in aqueous solution. The blue SGPC is stable when pH is over 5 and the SGPC solid can also dissolve in water, ethanol, methanol, and polyethylene glycol with a blue color. The blue production was filtered through a 0.2-μm polytetrafluoroethylene membrane and washed three times with doubly distilled water to remove free polyacrylic acid (PAA) and PAM in solution. The colorimetric detection of benzene was performed by adding different amounts of benzene to the SGPC aqueous solution with shaking. The blue SGPC with a value of -37.4 mV of zeta potential is very stable in aqueous solution. SGPC aqueous solution is also very stable in different temperatures. The results further confirm that the blue color of SGPC was resulted from the ordered pattern of PS nanoparticles. The blue color of SGPC changed little when a solvent with a low refractive index was introduced.
