英文摘要	To investigate glasses with good luminescence and fast scintillation properties, Ce3+ doped phosphate scintillator glasses 17Na(2)O+ 66P(2)O(5)+ 17(1-x)Gd2O3+ xCe(2)O(3) (NPG: Ce3+) were prepared using melt quenching method under CO reducing atmosphere. XRD patterns, absorption and photoluminescence spectra, lifetime, FTIR spectra and X-ray excited luminescence spectra of the obtained phosphate glasses were determined, respectively. The XRD patterns showed that the glass system was properly formed. The characteristic peaks of Ce3+ and Gd3+ were observed in the absorption and photoluminescence spectra. The luminescence emission due to 5d -> 4f transition of Ce3+ is sensitized by the Gd3+ ions in the glass host and significant red shift was observed in the UV-vis and X-ray excited luminescence spectra. The decay curves of Ce3+ emission were fitted with very short lifetimes of less than 30 ns. The good luminescence properties of the Ce3+ doped phosphate glasses under X-ray excitation and the short lifetime imply that this material has potential application as scintillator material.
