中文摘要高重复率窄脉宽全固态激光器在激光雷达、空间通信、激光测距以及激光精细加工等许多领域中都具有广阔的应用前景。电光调Q技术是压缩脉宽、提高峰值功率以获得高重复率巨脉冲的一种有效方法。另外,在传统固体激光器中,棒状激光介质承受热负荷时,径向的温度梯度使棒状介质呈现出光学畸变,它包括热聚焦、应力感生双轴聚焦和应力感生双折射等,这些热效应严重影响了激光器的性能。板条结构的固体激光器能够消除一级热效应,得到比棒状固体激光器更好的光束质量和更高的平均输出功率。 本论文中,我们采用部分端面泵浦的混合腔板条激光器,实现了大功率高光束质量的激光输出,并在此基础上进行了电光调Q实验研究。这一研究对国内发展高重复率高光束质量的大功率全固态激光器具有重要意义。 论文第一章概括论述了全固态激光器的发展历程和趋势,特别介绍了板条激光器的发展;分析了高重复率窄脉宽激光器的应用背景及调Q激光器的发展。第二章结合部分端面泵浦混合腔板条激光器的结构,分析了其设计特点。第三章分析了固体激光器中的热效应,对不同泵浦条件下的热透镜效应进行了讨论,最后利用LasCAD软件进行了热分析,计算出热透镜焦距,同实测结果相比基本吻合。分析结果对于优化激光器效率、改进谐振腔设计具有一定的参考价值。第四章、第五章为实验工作。第四章给出了激光器连续运转的实验结果,当泵浦功率为110W时,连续输出激光41.5W,光-光转换效率约38%,斜率达58.8%,输出光束的M2因子M2x=1.59,M2y=1.55。第五章为调Q部分,在连续运转的基础上,我们进行了电光调Q实验研究。实验结果表明,在脉冲泵浦情况下,1kHz运转时,可以得到脉宽4.6ns、单脉冲能量4.5mJ的激光输出。在连续泵浦调Q 输出情况下,5kHz高重复率运转时,获得了脉宽6ns、单脉冲能量3.1mJ的脉冲序列输出,平均功率超过15W;当重复率高达25kHz 时,得到脉宽9.5ns、单脉冲能量1.2mJ的激光输出,平均功率达30W,此时光-光转换效率约25.2%,斜效率33%。最后总结全文,指出了论文中的不足之处并提出了可能的改进方案。
英文摘要High repetition rate short pulsed solid state lasers pumped by diode lasers are promising in many applications such as lidar, space communications, laser ranging, laser precision processing and so on. Electro-optic (EO) Q-switched technology is an efficiency way to obtain short duration pulses with high energy. In conventional solid-state lasers, however, the thermally loaded cylindrical laser medium exhibits optical distortions which include thermal focusing, stress induced biaxial focusing, and stress induced birefringence, these thermally induced effects severely degrade the beam quality and eventually limit the output power. Having eliminated the one-order thermal effects, the slab lasers provide higher output power and better beam quality than those solid lasers using rod crystals. In this paper, with a laser combining the hybrid resonator and partially end-pumping, we have obtained high output power and high beam quality, both in contimuous and short pulsed operation. Researches on this laser are very important for develop high power solid state lasers with good beam quality in China. In Ch1, the progresses about all solid state lasers are summarized, especially introduce the development of slab laser. Both the techniques and applications of the high repetition rate short pulsed lasers are introduced. In Ch2, the design features of the partially end-pumped slab laser with the hybrid resonator were analyzed. In Ch3, we analysed the thermal effect of the diode pumped solid state lasers, and simulate the thermal lens focal length using the software named LasCAD. The results were helpfull for the optimization of laser efficiency and resonant cavity design. Ch4 and Ch5 conterns the experimental research work. In Ch4, the CW laser experimental results were produced. An output laser with 41.5W power was obtained. Optical-optical conversion efficiency was about 38%, and slope efficiency was 58.8%, with M2x=1.59,M2y=1.55. Then in Ch5, at the base of CW operation, EO Q-switch technic was experimentally studied. In the condition of pulse pumping,an output pulse train with 4.6ns pulse width and 4.5mJ pulse energy was obtained at 1kHz repetition rate. In the condition of continuous pumping, at 5kHz operation, Q-switched laser with pulse width of 6ns and pulse energy of 3.1mJ was obtained. The width and energy were 9.5ns and 1.2mJ respectively when the repetition rate reached 25kHz. Optical-optical conversion efficiency was about 25.2%, and slope efficiency was 33%. At last, in Ch6, we make a brief sumarry of all the work done, then indicate the defects of the work and give some suggestions for further researches.
