中文摘要聚丙烯是世界上产量最大、应用最广泛的高分子材料之一。但是,聚丙烯是非极性高分子,这一内在缺陷严重阻碍了其在许多领域的应用。在聚丙烯分子链中引入极性基团或极性分子链段制备得到功能化聚丙烯,可有效改善聚丙烯材料的性能,例如,赋予聚丙烯亲水性、可着色性、与极性高分子的相容性等,从而提高其附加值。另外,等规聚丙烯低温下抗冲击性能比较差,熔体强度低,不利于成型加工。研究表明,在分子骨架上引入支链可以有效地改善等规聚丙烯的物理机械性能,从而获得应用更为广泛的高分子材料。本论文利用过渡金属催化剂在烯烃结构可控聚合方面进行了实践,并通过探索应用官能团耐受性强、共聚能力优异的配位聚合催化剂以及简捷高效的功能化途径,合成了一系列高分子量、结构可控的侧基和接枝功能化聚丙烯以及杂短链支化聚丙烯。
英文摘要As one of the fastest growing thermoplastics, isotactic polypropylene (iPP) constitutes a quarter of commercial polymers produced in the world. It is widely used in commodity applications related to our daily life, with a unique combination of chemical and physical properties, low cost as well as excellent processability and recyclability. On the other hand, iPP is a kind of nonpolar polymer. The lack of polar groups poses serious problems in the application areas where adhesion, dyeability, printability and compatibility with other polymers are paramount. Thus, there is a strong desire and a constant interest in the functionalization of iPP to improve its poor interactive properties and broaden its applications to higher value products. Besides, linear iPP exhibits poor impact performance at low temperature and low melt strength which is not conducive to forming. Previous studies show that introducing branched chain into the molecular backbone can effectively improve the physical and mechanical properties of iPP, and thereby broaden its application. In this doctoral dissertation, the structure-controllable olefin polymerization was explored by using transition metal catalyst. In addition, a series of side- and graft-functionalized as well as hetero-short chain branched iPPs with well-defined structures and high molecular weights have been synthesized via development of novel catalysts with excellent heteroatom tolerance and copolymerization ability as well as facile and efficient functionalization strategy. Besides, we also investigated the performance and potential application of these chemical modified iPPs.
