The natural waters in Gongga Mountaious region consist of river water, lake water warm spring water and ice and snow, Their Hydrochemical characteristics, the main ion contents and trace element contents all are different.
The most of the river water is low wineraliztion water and soft water. The maib ion contents vary decreaingly HCO3->SO3->Cl->Ca++>Mg++>Na+>K+; the trace element content of F is 0.038- 0.480ppm, and m.v. is 0.152ppm. The contens and hardness of river water on east and west slpoes are distinctly different. The hydrochemical characteristics of the water in upper and lower reaches of a river are also different, i.e. the most ion contents are increaseng from upper to lower, but K+ ino content is decreasing from upper to lower.
The lake water belongs to low nieralization and solf water. Its main ion contents vary decreasingly HCO3->SO3->Cl-, Ca++>Mg++>K+>na+; the trace element contreat of F is 0.053-0.380ppm, and m.v. is 0.144ppm. The mineralization and ion content decrease by barrier lake>moraine lake>moraine lake>glacial erosion lake; but increase with the altitude.
The mineralization of the warm spring water is high. The most of mineralization is about 1000mg/liter. The main ion contenrs of the warm spring water and trace element content of F are higher than other natural water. The main ion contents vary as follows: HCO3->Cl->SO4-,Na+>Ca++>Mg++>K+. The ion contents of HCO3- and Na+ are related to the mineralization.
The main ion contents of ice and snow and the trace element content of F are low. The main ion contents of ice and snow vary; SO4->HCO3->Cl-, Na+>Mg++>Ca++>K+. The main ion contents of surface ice are higher than old or fresh snow.
